The Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning Demo

Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning demo came out recently and I have to say I am impressed and very happy to have that game pre-ordered. It felt to me like a Fable/Warcraft version of The Elder Scrolls. It’s an amazing demo and I have yet to play through it, and not run out of time with a whimper knowing I am going to lose the progress of the current play through.

After the, what I would call “Prologue” You have about 45 minutes of free play time in the demo, and after that time you want more. You won’t be getting more till February 7th, and that day cannot come fast enough. I haven’t had that much fun playing a demo in a long time; the fighting mechanics were amazing and responsive the story was flowing and compelling.

I was pissed that some of the quests couldn’t be completed in the demo but my god you have so many to choose from, the demo is packed with missions you can complete and that’s a good indicator that the actual game is going to be huge. The art style of the game is inspired and with a person like Todd McFarlane on board to help make things look awesome how can you go wrong?

Speaking of story master fantasy writer R.A. Salvatore is also a major contributor to the story of “Reckoning” how is that not the best shit ever? I think everything about this game is like the New York Yankees; the company spent as much money as it could to get all the best people to work on it, damn near guaranteeing a win.

On top of all the greatness of the demo there is also an added bonus of un-lockables, in both Mass Effect 3 and Reckoning. You really get some nice shit unlocked for the games and its well worth it, if you haven’t yet downloaded the demo, do yourself a favor and get it.
