The Rum Diary

Johnny Depp is back filling the shoes, of the late great Hunter S. Thompson. The Rum Diary was written in the early 1960s but was not published until 1998. The stories Protagonist is a journalist named Paul Kemp, who moves from New York to work for a major newspaper, The Daily News, in San Juan, Porto Rico.

Set in the late 1950s, the novel encompasses a tangled love story of jealousy, treachery and violent alcoholic lust among the Americans who staff the newspaper.

Hunter and Depp are the best kind of combo; if you ever saw Johnny in "Fear and loathing in Las Vegas" You know exactly what I mean. Hunters Panicked paced writing style fits Deeps manic acting ability to a tee. I personally cannot wait to get in line for this flick On Oct.24th, and Im sure I cant be the only one.
